**Universal and DreamWorks have locked in June 30, 2027, as the firm release date for Shrek 5 after two prior shifts from the original July 2026 slot.** Voice recording wrapped in August 2026, with franchise veterans Conrad Vernon and Walt Dohrn directing and returning stars Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz joined by Zendaya. Active retail and promotional campaigns are already underway across EMEA ahead of the summer window, which Universal selected to maximize animated franchise performance away from heavier December 2026 competition. No production setbacks or slate conflicts have surfaced in recent months, giving traders high confidence the date will hold with roughly nine months remaining.
